Pre-Seed & Angel Investors — The Idea Stage

The simple version

Pre-seed is the earliest money a startup raises. At this stage, you usually have just an idea, maybe a prototype, and definitely no revenue. Investors at this stage are betting almost entirely on YOU — the founder. Money typically comes from three sources: your own savings, friends and family, or angel investors — wealthy individuals who invest their personal money. Typical pre-seed round: $50K to $1M Typical valuation: implied, not formally set
